After subjecting my bike to a particularly nasty ride in the slush and salt I spent a day detailing. When I had the Deltas apart to clean and lubricate the pivots and linkage I noticed there were numbers in the cover casting.

"3/1" is clearly visible.

When I looked inside my wife's Deltas there's no markings.

What gives? My guess for my Deltas is that they were cast in March of 1991, but that's just a guess.

It may be easier to date them based on pivot design. Without seeing the innards, my guess is that the top ones are 4 pivot based on the white accordians, which would right around 1991. The bottom ones are older based on the top design. I have a pair of later 5 pivots with black accordians and the date stamped inside is 3/2.

Man, I'm drooling. I need a set of Delta's to make my steel Colnago complete. I have a complete C-Record gruppo except the brakes (currently I'm sporting a set of Chorus Monoplaner brakes in the meantime).
