Long story short brand new Record crankset I was switching chainrings (Stronglight CT2), using a torque wrench calibrated a year and a half ago (home duty, not shop). The 8Nm torque spec is crap, as I stripped the threads on one. I may go ahead an order the "heavier" Chorus bolts as steel is still real in some applications. I noticed the male side has barley 3.5 threads of engagement. Campagnolo doesn't specify lube or lube on threads, however, aluminum on aluminum is not good combo in the elements, and I greased my threads.
