I second the Synapse and the 566. Budget?

Camilo: aren't Scott CR1's very aggressive geometry? or did they change that for 2010? Do you know if the Womens 2010 Scott Contessa CR1 Pro is considered aggressive geometry?

The head tube was lengthened in '10 as far as I can tell, because it is comparable to all of the above in the '10 models at least in my size (54-55 cm ETT).

Compared to most on the list, the CR1 has slightly steeper angles (.5 - 1.0 degree) than some, the same as others. One thing it differs from most (but not all) of the others is chain stay length, 5-15 mm shorter.

So I guess it is a little more aggressive than some, but not all. Probaby the range from "most aggressive, tall head tube" to "least aggressive tall head tube" frames is the Scott on one end and the Giant Defy and Specialized Roubaix on the other end. But not huge differences all in all, and especially in the head tube height for any given frame size.

Yes, the 2010 CR1's have been redesigned with a more up-right, more comfortable, ride.
Here's an excerpt from Bicycling Mags. review. http://www.bicycling.com/gear/detail/0,7989,s1-16-155-2639-0,00.html
Scott's vision for the bike had changed: The lighter and stiffer Addict became the company's top-end race bike, and the CR1 was redesigned to satisfy the growing demand for performance-plush bikes—those equally adept at keeping you comfortable and helping you crush the club ride. The seat-and chainstays now have flattened sections that act as a simple suspension system, flexing up to 0.8mm on uneven surfaces, says Scott. The head tube is longer, for a more upright position, although the top-tube lengths haven't been radically shortened, the result is a noticeably more compact cockpit.

Hello,

I am in the market for a carbon frame/bike that has a tall head tube.... besides TREK.

Thanks!

Had a look around for a Guru dealership? Custom CF, very high quality. Get just what you want in a head tube length and a variety of paint finishes too.

Not sure how far they go - Guru is Canadian, but there's a dealership just around the corner from me in Chicago!

You'll get more meaningful answers if you tell us how much you are planning to spend.

Regardless, many great custom builders have carbon frames with tall head tube, such as Cyfac's Gothica

Gall,

How tall are we talking here? I have a Scott CR1 SL that is a 61cm c to c. They show it as an 61cm XXL... Don't quote me on this but I don't think there are many manufactures that make Carbon bikes bigger than this unless they are custom.. I could be wrong though. I was one other time along, long time ago...

Here is mine:

All Ridley frames use longer head tubes, the same with BMC, although they are generally 5mm shorter than Ridley’s. Some have marginally taller head tubes (10mm-20mm taller), Madone, Felt Z, Infinito, CR1, RS, Ridley, BMC, etc. and then there are 20mm+ like the synapse, Roubaix, etc. You’ll also want to look at head tube angle as that effects both reach and trail for a given fork rake. There are bikes like the synapse, Infinito, Roubaix, which can have head tubes that are as much as 2 degrees off the standard 73, on the other hand you have the CR1 which uses as 73 degrees, and the Z which never gets slacker than 72.5. Some of these bikes will also use a standard rake with a slacker head tube that will result in more trail and more stable handling, whereas others use a longer rake to quicken up the steering in order to offset the effects of a slightly longer wheelbase.
