Wanted the Stealth 50 to sync with one of the sensors from their older computers. I tried both a CD300DW and a RD400DW and they would not sync. I want cadence and heart rate and I'll let the sat' do the rest. I emailed CatEye CS today so it will be a few days before I get a reply.

It may be that the older models don't have ANT+ protocol required for the Stealth.

Yeah, those sensors are not ANT+.
Cateye now has the ICS-11 speed/cadence sensor, which is ANT+.
Or any ANT+ sensor or HR monitor should work with the S50.
