This is my daughter's band. Feedback, please.

I realize that Arcade Fire is no longer a new band, but when I want to explain how I relate to todays music, AF is my best example. I first heard them (AF) about 5 years ago, when someone put their cd on in the car. After a minute or so, I had to hit repeat, pause the conversation, and focus on what the heck was happening over the speakers. I became a fan, but it took a few focused listenings to feel it.

I have had similar experiences with other new bands, including, to a lesser degree, Caulfield and His Magical Violin. I'm interested to know what y'alls impressions are.

Happy tunes.

BMX does not like happy tunes.

Sorry.

They're better than anything I ever did in my short-lived musical career though.

I kinda like them - happy tunes, like BMX says.

It's not my usual type of music but I must admit I kinda like them. They may have something there for some success.

"happy/hippy/poppy" - I like your description.

There's folk element, for sure, though it's not laying on the surface. Some of their other stuff reminds me of the dead, just a little.
