So...I'm eligible for an upgrade at the end of the week. How have things changed since I first asked for opinions on cell phones? I'm on Verizon so no iPhone yet-- not that I'm even sure I'd want one.

So...if I want a smartphone it looks like a showdown between the droid x, HTC Incredible and the Droid 2...which one do I want and why?

Many of them are very new. Go and try them out. You can also look at Cnet.com and get their reviews.

I've had 2 of the three and thy were both great. I think this is the best way to analyze them.

HTC Incredible - If you are looking for a slightly smaller phone.

Droid X (I currently have this) - I lost the HTC and decided the one thing I didn't like about it was that the keyboard was just a little small. The Droid X has a bigger screen, therefor, a bigger keyboard. The phone is pretty big though.

Droid 2 - If you like an actual keyboard, this is the one for you.

All great phones, I think it will just come down to personal preference.

Can you pocket the Droid X or is it just too big? I hate having to use some kind of belt clip.

Hold out a couple months and pickup the MyTouch HD from T-Mobile. I wouldn't go with the Samsung Fascinate (their Galaxy S for Verizon) not because of the phone but because of the stupid crap Verizon pulls.

The Incredible is a nice device. I haven't played around with the Motorolas.

Android Central has good reviews of pretty much every Android device out there.

+1 I carry mine in my pocket and I don't find it to be any bigger than my old storm w/ a case. I really like the Droid X but they still have not pushed the Android 2.2 to it yet :mad2: apperantly there are a bunch of great inprovement from the 2.1OS including Flash (thats for pron)

My wife is a pretty big fan of her Incredible. We looked at the Droid X, but it was about the size of a pizza box. Well, not really, but you need to see it in person to see if you'd be okay lugging it around.

I'd say BlackBerry Torch, but it is AT&T only. Since the iPhone 4 is a bit of a failure I might make the move to a Torch. My 3G is starting to get a bit tired.

I'm in the same boat. I'm currently with AT&T and have a blackberry. My phone is dying and I need something new.

A friend says all his IT geeks are going with sprint and the EVO phone. Guess they have a $70 a month unlimited everything plan. Also the apps aren't apple approved so there are a lot of apps.

I also want to upgrade my wife to a smartphone. So a total switch is in order.

How is the Verison coverage in Denver? Also, anyone have Sprint in denver?

Anyone able to directly compare the iphone to the latest droids?

I love my ipod touch, but Iphone for Verizon is always a year away and my phone is pretty beat.

Latest rumor is that they are pushing it this week. I guess the Droid 2 already has it.

I like HTC to be honest and is the only other kinda Android phone I've messed with other than the iPhone. I like HTC enough that I won't mind swapping phones with a friend here to see how it is.

I've only had T-Mobile prior to Verizon. Verizon's coverage seems a lot better than T-Mobile overall (especially for more remote places), but really never had too many issues with T-Mobile. I switched because I can get a discount with Verizon through work. Our company used to resell Sprint prior to Verizon. I would not recommend them or ATT. Everyone I know with iPhones seems to experience the dropped call issue.

My sister had verison until a year ago. She dropped them because of problems. I'm not sure what the problem was. guess I'll have to ask her. She didn't seem to like them though. I have 3 spots on my commute where I sometimes drop a call. I know where they are.

I hate this roll the dice for 2 years crap.
