I'm assembling my first carbon frame. The Campy Record brake calipers are supplied with serrated flat washers , having fairly sharp edges.

Using those serrated washers on a CF frame seems a bad idea to me, as the washers would likely chew-up the the CF, break the clear coat and surface layer of fibers, and start a disintegration process.

Agree / Disagree ??

I ran Record brakes with those serrated washers on a carbon fork for two seasons without removal, did plenty of racing and lots of nasty rain rides / races.

When I removed them, there was a small indendation in the clear coat, and some superficial scratches, from the washer.

That was it.
