I wear 34 pants and always road with a 175 crank. when i bought my new bike last fall the shop insisted that I get 172.5 cranks. I did and I didn't notice anything until the crank broke and I put on my old 175's. I feel much better on 175 cranks. I am sure it is a persomnel preference thing in that a friend who is my height likes 172.5 cranks better than 175.
