My drop bar STI 8-speed needs to change to flat bar. I have center pull brakes and Shimano ders. Anybody have a good set-up to recommend? SRAM seems to have Shimano compatible stuff, not sure if trigger or twist grip is best.

To alter the "cross" type 26" titaniun Raleigh even more, I may put on a carbon cross fork for 27" wheels. I could always switch the steel fork and wheel back on for heavy duty trails. Other than having to carry two different sizes of tubes, I don't see any other problems. Bigger tire in the back would probably level things out to almost even. Nuts?
