Are bibs bad for people with long upper body and short lower body? I'm 5'10" and have 33" inseam.
Is it better to fit for the lower body because the bibs will stretch?

same waist size as shorts..

I've never seen bib shorts or tights sized by anything but waist size. Maybe some come in tall sizes, but you've got pretty average dimensions, so normal waist size should do it.

I have similar dimensions (5'9" and 32") and I found that the Pearl Izumi Ultrasensor bibs fit pretty well, although I wished for slightly longer straps. It was a while ago, and I don't remember if they were M or L, but I think they were M.
