I'm a newbie to clipless pedals -- just added three weeks ago. Though I have had my first 1 mph crash, complete with some lovely road rash.

Do I need to do anything to maintain them? I assume spindle bearings should be sealed (Look PP206), but do I need to lube the latching mechanism? Principal seems same as ski bindings and I've never had to lube them.

Thanks!

Not much to do to take care of them. Keep them clean. Make sure the threads were greased before you put them on the crank. Give the part of the pedal that the cleat connects to a squirt of Pledge now and then and that's about it. The pedal may have some adjustments and if they do the procedure should be described in the information that came with the pedals or on the company's web site.
