Co-Motion Cycles: any feedback?

Since Co-Motion is close by, I figured I would check them out. Mostly, I am still looking at a steel bike, but it now seems that Vanilla is out of the question. Also, the Co-Motion's seem to be very affordable.

Does anyone have much familiarity with the brand? I am mostly interested in their steel Espresso model (853 tubing) but also may consider the Ristretto down the line (it looks like a sweet race bike). I like the fact that they make 1cm increments, and the price is very competitive as well.

I have had two commotion bikes. Divide Pinion and Pangea Rolloff.
1. Extremely poor customer service from day one. I have heard this from the commotion bikes in my local area.
2. Frame not built to my standards. Sold bike because it was to sizes to small. Went to R an E bike and did their sizing simulator to verify this. No response from commotion.
3. Bought the S an S couplers, copilot bag and frame padding. Every time I travel the bike weights in over the 50lb allotment set by most airlines. As well, much frame rash from traveling. After complaining to commotion, I was told they can't guarantee what airlines do, even though they promote the copilot bag as an alternative to pay baggage fees.
4. The pinion cracks and squeaks more than a 50 year working girl. I was told to contact gates, even though commotion sold the bike to me. Gates was not interested, they said talk to commotion.

5. In the end....dumped both bikes at a tremendous loss and bought a European bike while traveling. Less $$$ than commotion, same equipment and surprisingly....customer service that real wants to work with you.

My suggestion, don't buy commotion. Take a trip to Europe and try their bikes. Also, that's where rohloff and Pinion come from. They have many more inovative ideas in bike design.

Apparently he's been banned already. Not sure what went on here, but reading that post, it looks like a bot or a very bad translation.
I don’t normally like to get in the middle of a pissing contest, but feel I must chime in here.

I’ve been to the Co-Motion factory, seen the bikes being built. I’m acquainted with the president, Dwan Shepherd.

Co-Motion bikes are beautiful. The welds are top-notch, artistry at work. They are built by people who love bicycles and do their work with care and expertise. They are highly customizable. The finishing work is beautiful.

Those in search of a steel bike should absolutely consider Co-Motion, especially if they are interested in a tandem or packable bike.

In addition I will also point out that Mr. Shepherd is active in the community, driving the FreeBike4Kids campaign in Eugene.
I also have only good things to say about Co-Motion. I visited their shop when my wife were on a tandem tour of the PNW, and Dwan met us to show us around the shop and let us test ride one of their tandems. It was a fantastic bike, beautifully made and designed so well that I forgot it was a tandem. I would have bought one of their tandems if I didn't already own a tandem that I loved.
