I'm thinking about getting a CO2 pump, but was wondering what's the capacity of one of the CO2 cartridges? Will it fill an average 700c tire? Or does it normally require a couple cartridges?

A 12g cartridge will take a 700c tire to 96psi, a 16g to 130 psi.

I use one of the pump + CO2 models, and start off with the pump, finish with a 12g. I normally run @100psi anyway, so 12g's are good for me - plus they're much cheaper than the threaded types if purchased from a discount store (as bb gun supplies.)

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a 12g would get me home. I realized during the middle of my ride last night that I left without my frame pump, so I was thinking a CO2 inflator crammed in my seat bag would be a good backup.
