I've had lots of dealings with CC and always found them above board. Are they saying its out of stock, or just flat won't honor the price they posted?

They flat out wont honor nor do back order and I don't mind waiting.
They are backcountry now.

CC customer service not as good as it used to be. :(
Have they said why not?
All Internet dealers have a little asterix in their site, that says that they will not honor pricing mistakes on their part. Maybe it's still on their web page because the IT guy went home sick..

Get over it.

Been up for weeks! I guest the IT is out on vacation without anyone covering for him.

Lets all put an * in every statement and transactions we do and get away with everything.
That seatpost was part of the 23 days 23 deals Tour de France sale, every business day from noon till the next day at noon (or until they sell out) there is something at a ridiculous price.

You must buy it during that time.....the seatposts were on sale around day 6 this is day 11 and they have $2700 powermeters for $1800 till monday at noon or until they sell out...after monday at noon the price goes back to $2700.

If you sign up for the emails they email you every new deal right at noon.
Get over it. move on. delete this thread.

Now that I know CC employees pay attention to forums then yes I am over it.

I searched all over the site and found no asterix, not even an asterisk. Until you can show me CC's asterisk saying they won't honor pricing mistakes, I'm calling you out for throwing out misinformation.
Never had any problems with the stuff I have ordered from Competitive Cyclist, but they do charge
quite a premium for their items. Sometimes we can find the same stuff on sale other places.

They don't need the asterisk -- it's not an offer for sale until they agree to take your money for the good promised. That's general contract law in the US...originally designed to protect retailers from suffering due to printed mistakes, but applies equally to website mistakes...

Now if you add the item to your cart, check out, and they bill your credit card, than they should likely honor the sale...but this is just getting goofy

My experience with CC has always been terrific. I've also called them when finding better deals on other websites and they will generally price match. I've never had an issue and am unlikely to shop elsewhere (except my LBS)
I had a different problem and they stepped up big time

I went to buy some base layers at CC and it looked like the pricing was a bit screwed up
on EACH listing.

Example: 1 Baselayer was $29.00, Buy 2 or more and its $33.00 each.

Okay I figured they swapped out the columns and so buying more would cost more per unit OR maybe it was all screwed up.

In anycase I called the 800 number and they said, yup there was a glitch.

How many did you want? I said 2 XL's and they said fine, How about $20.00 per?

Well I took 3 and they were Hincapies that I love.

I think the price now is about $27.50 each. did they do it because the price was so small versus the OP? I don't know, but truth be told there are few companies that REALLY will suck up to a price mistake. It does happen, but at least they should do something to make you happy.

Tell that to Grumpy. I never said they had or needed an asterisk.
They are better than they used to be . . .

. . . back when they were not part of Backcountry.com. Because they would nickel-and-dime you like all the other internet bike vendors. In other words, if there is a discount coupon, it does not apply to sales items.

Couple of months ago I picked up a Shimano WH-7850-C24-TU wheelset on closeout for $1100, which is normally priced at $1800-2200. This is the climber's wheelset the pros use, and at 1250 gms, is the lightest wheelset Shimano has produced to date. There was a 10% discount code at the time, and I said what the heck, I e-mailed CC asking if I could get refunded $110, AFTER I paid for it. To my surprise, they offered me a $110 credit towards future purchases. Normally, no way the discount code applies towards sale items, much less if you try to apply the discount after you already bought the item!

Chalk it up to ignorance among their customer service staff, but I'll take it!

Get it from their other outfit, I just received my Rotundo LTD today:

***/3t-doric-limited-seatpost

Even better: free shipping.

PS: Can't post links, *** =
Get over it. Colorado Cyclist the other CC pulled the same thing on me 2 years ago on a garmin 705 bundle for $399. The said it was in error and asked for $499 and I declined and got over it. Few months later 800 model came out and I got just the head unit for $330 from performance and picked up cadence kit and HR strap from amazon on good deals.
