Converting to 8/9 speed

Does anyone know if an Exage 7 speed hub can be upgraded to 8 speed by fitting a new freehub body and redishing?

I have inherited a pair of Mach2CD2 wheels that are true & round. It seems a shame to cut the rear hub out if I can just upgrade the hub body.
