I have had my right crank arm on my training bike repaired by an Engineering friend. However the pedal is now 4mm further out. Will this have a significant effect on my cycling? should I fit a 4mm washer the other side to even this out?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If it was my bike, I think that I'd just ride it like it is and see what happens.
