I've been looking around trying to replace my crankset and BB (mine is just noisy as hell) and I'm looking for some suggestions outside of the world of Sugino which is what I had been leaning on at first.

Really I just want to get rid of the creak and rattle that is going on down there and I don't mind paying for it. So whatever success in crank and BB choices you have had I would really appreciate hearing about it.

I use Shimano square taper bottom brackets and White Industries single speed cranks on both my bikes and I am quite happy. There are drawbacks that someone else pointed out to me and that is the lack of different size chainrings but the 44 works well for me. So far no problems, no noise. They certainly aren't the prettiest out there, I have to give that one to Campy Record Pista but there is a certain charm about the WI.
