awesome ride... what is the chain you're using on there? how does it work with the campy 10? have you been using campy chains with other 10 speed setups for comparison?
how has the N Gear Jump Stop been working?
have you put the bike through it's paces? i'm curious why you went with that frame/fork.
sorry for all the questions but it seems like a cross bike i might dig - with some differences that make me curious.
ok. it's an ird teflon coated chain. it seems to work very well. i can't really notice the difference compared to a campy chain. maybe the campy chain shifts a hair crisper but it's hard to tell. the thing i really like about the ird chain is the price and also the fact that it cleans super easily due to the teflon. i wasn't really sure about the teflon at first but it is really easy to keep clean. next comes the wear test as it's only been on the bike since january.
the jump stop has been working well. i've had it on for about a year. i dropped my chain once during a crash. that was the only incident.
i've definitely put the bike through it's paces and i like how it rides. the deal with me getting that frame is that i moved to a different country 2 years ago and had to build up my stable from scratch on a mechanics salary. i bought the f&f from a friend for $150 so i couldn't really refuse it. at this point in time most of the components outclass the frame and fork and i could drop 2 pounds by switching to pretty much anything else. but, until i save up enough to buy a custom frame and fork or something, the surly's doing fine. it would just be nice to drop a bit of weight, that's all.
