I have an 05-06 Specy Allez basic build nothing fancy. Standard road brakes. Dumb question would it be possible to fit some 700x30 cyclocross tires on it for this winter and maybe some races? Also can anyone reccomend a low profile cx tire that may fit?

Doubtful. Nothing worth using that will fit for racing.

Kenda Kwicks to the rescue

Get some Kenda Kwick 700x30c tires. I use use these tires on a Trek 600 series road frame with good results. In fact I raced a whole season with this setup, its now used as a b-bike. These tire roll super fast, but traction is less than optimum in peanut butter mud.
