It seem like a number of you have had experience cycling the Lake Champlain islands. My wife and I are thinking about taking a long weekend in late July to tour the area. We do a lot of cycling in the Burke/Orleans area and though we could explore the other side of Vermont. We would like to average 50mile a day over three days, leaving from Burlington and returning there. We also are hoping to do most of our riding on paved roads. I was wondering if any one who is familiar with the routes could suggest campsites/motels/B&B’s and routes to ride. Also, is there a good place to stash the car in Burlington for the three days?

You shouldn't have any problem if you take advantage of the ferrys.

We did it on our fixtes but I really couldn't tell you very many specifics-we were doing 100 miles a day fixed and had a great time. There were indeed lots of places to stay and great dining.

You should have a good trip.
