I'm sure this question has been asked on here before, but I'm buying a new bike. should I keep my lightly used dura ace 7800 gruppo or go with ultegra 6700?

what I'm asking is: is the new ultegra 6700 better than the DA 7800 stuff?

7800 shifters are 25% better than 7900 shifters, and twice as good as the new Ultegra.
(unless you have 25,000 miles on them)

Nothing shifts as smooth and positive as 7800 shifters.

I say go to a shop and test out a bike with the new 6700 shifters. See if you like them more or less, both in shifting and ergonomics. Decide for yourself. I've been tossing around the ideal of going 6700, or going with 2010 force.
The only dislike I have about my 7800 is that the hoods are so large, that to me they look funny compared to campy and sram.

I took a test ride on some 6700. It was nice and the throw felt good though as far as smoothness, the 7800 feels nicer to me. Although I like the hidden cables the cable pull didn't feel as slippery smooth as the old exposed design.
