Wondering just how prevalent bike theft is in Dallas?
I'm looking at potentially locking up a bike worth <$500 during the lunch hour downtown - probably near people eating/walking around. I know this isn't New York - but do I need to shell out 20% of the cost of the bike to lock it up for an hour?
I've always heard that if a thief really wants your bike (this one is 'vintage' in the fact that it's older than me and looks like it) he/she will take it - but I guess I just wonder, aloud, if there is really a market for it here.
No, I can't take it with me during lunch. Thoughts? Thanks.
