I am somewhat torn on what to get. I have a limited budget and want a few things

1) I want a painted bike - a tad custom look
2) I want a bike that's comfortable on rough roads and long rides
3) I want to run a tapered headtube/fork

I do not have much experience with titanium but have had a few steel bikes (currently own a columbus zona tubed bike).

The price to paint titanium is huge, the ti frame alone is 700 more and then paint would be at least another 500.

I have owned carbon bikes and enjoy the feel on the road roads so looking for a bike that can absorb the road shock.

Looking for any feedback from people who have owned or ridden both Seven steel bikes and Seven Ti bikes?

If you provide Seven with your specs, preferences and details... or even an analog of qualities you have liked about other bikes, they can build it for you in steel or ti or carbon or ti and carbon. It is really hard to speak in generalities with a custom builder.
