I'm thinking about making the switch from Campy 10-spd to 11, and will probably go with a Record group (found a pretty attractive deal). However, I really like the looks of the black SR cups. Is there any reason why they would not work with the Record crankset?

The only difference with the SR cups is the omission of the inner seal to reduce drag.

If you frame has a sealed off BB area (ie water doesn't get in from the seat tube, or any other tubes), then the inner seal really isn't doing much of anything - so go ahead. If it's the type of frame that lets water in, and you ride in the wet, then the regular record cups would seem to have an advantage.

Any frame with a water drain hole in the BB shell will allow dust and dirt into the BB bearings. I've found large bits of sand in a BB shell that was sealed everywhere but the drain hole.
