It was a typical summer Sunday in the Southland. Hot! We got a late morning start and already the incessant sun was burning us to a crisp. In true SoCal fashion, the locals were stylin' on the MUT.

Was it just all those skulls that gave the day such a peculiar feel?

Skulls yes, but that wasn't all. For it was also fat tire day!

That's Double-A smiling in her Bicycle Tour of Colorado jersey.

She's wasn't smiling from the memories of those high Rockies passes. Nope. You see, she's got some extenuating circumstances. Might say she's got a bun in the oven. So she can't exactly go out and climb like Contador. But with some fat tires of her own she's got some extra stability and cushion so she can keep riding for a while.

Margo built the frame with extra clearance and standard reach calipers. Plenty of clearance in back.

And plenty in front too. If we ever wear these tires out, maybe we'll try some 35's just for fun.

At first we were concerned because there's some toe overlap. But luckily it's not an issue when riding. She's noticed it when standing still, but on a recent 40 miler she didn't touch once.

Overall, the Luna has been a great investment. Double-A's enjoyed lots of riding and some centuries without the shoulder/neck pain she had with her old bike.

The Finesse saddle has also treated her well. At least I haven't heard any gripes yet...

Have you ever had a highly polished chainring that mirrored sunlight? It's quite mesmerizing when seen at speed.
