I have a Seven bike with DA triple setup. Thinking of making a light-weight climbing monster out of it by putting on an XTR 11-32t cassette, XTR rear derailleur, and mtn handlebars. I will keep the DA triple cranks, front derailleur, and brakes. I will need light-weight mtn shifters and brake levers that will work with Shimano DA front and XTR-rear derailleurs, and the DA brakes. I heard that SRAM used to work, but that their new offerings are no longer compatible with Shimano. Suggestions??

I think SRAM makes shimano compatible shifters, but you need to make sure you specify that. Otherwise the SRAM standard is a 1:1 ratio and won't work with shimano. I did the same thing but left my road bars and brifters on but used an 11-32 with an XT RD for climbing and it works pretty good.
