So, I have a set of DA 8/9 bar end shifters that I'd like to pair up with a 9 speed cassette and an Ultegra rear derailleur. I believe the shifters are model number 7700, but not positive.

Do these shifters fall under the 'DA is different than other models' or will they work with other derailleurs? I seem to remember that older DA stuff only works with DA stuff, but i don't know where the cutoff is?

And yeah, I know they'll work in friction mode, but I'm hoping to use the index mode for this application.

Thanks.

The 7700 series 9-speed shifters will shift 9-speed cogset with a 7700/7800 RD, 8-speed cogset with 7400/7402 rear derailer. They are also compatible with all 9-speed Shimano RDs, like Ultegra/105/Tiagra, will work as a standard 9-speed system.

Thanks, sounds like I'm good to go.
