For my birthday, I have the choice between two wheelsets to place on my bike. I am leaning towards the Dura Ace/Open Pro wheelsets, but am wondering if I may be making a mistake. The two wheelsets that I may choose from are the Open Pro Rims matched with Dura Ace 7700 Hubs 32 spokes. I do not know a lot about the Vuelta XRP wheels, but they look like Ksryium clones. Please advice to the best choice.

They are "Ksyrium clones" in that they kinda sorta look like them... a little... and they have aluminum spokes.

So... they are "new" and made by a company without a track record for producing reliable components. Do you feel lucky?

Just curious... why do you only have a choice between these two?

A guy on yesterday's ride had new Vueltas on his new C-50. They looked a lot like Ksyriums. However, while my Ksyrium ESs took a lot of bumps and, as usual, suffered no ill effects, the Vuelta owner started to get brake rub when the front wheel got a little bent from a pothole (and not a particularly big one). Maybe just bad luck, or maybe the Vueltas aren't quite as tough as the Ksyriums.
