I'm planning a trip to Sea Ranch CA and I'm going to buy a back-up bike and have it shipped there for my vacation. I want to keep the cost down, so I've narrowed it down to these two bikes. The Merckx is on sale for $1450 shipped and the Sette is $1600 shipped. The Sette has 5700 105 compared to the Merckx 5600. The Sette also has slightly better wheels. Any thoghts on these two, or a good deal I may have missed?

BTW, I've picked these two because I need a fairly tall head tube (190mm) for a 57cm TT.

Thanks!

I don't know about Sette, but I am happy with my EMX1. Although it's not their top tier model, the frame's build quality is great. It is a well balanced bike that handles very well. It can also take a beating. I built mine up with 23mm rims - love the ride. Hope this helps.
