I rode my lugged steel framed Pogliaghi from 1985 to 2000 when the fork broke. I still have it. It was my first real road bike and I can't imagine letting it go.

I had the fork replaced with a Bottechia fork and use it as my "ride to yoga" bike.

I like riding bikes more than caring for them.

Most have been bought used, ridden til they became easier and cheaper to start another one, stripped of useful parts and taken to the dump. I'm looking for 5 low maintenance years, not a lifetime commitment. Now that I have 3 on the road they may last longer.

Well, the bike I've had the longest and have put the most miles on is my 2002 Orbea Zonal, don't think I could EVER sell that, the rest of my bikes I could probably part with if I absolutely had to (that's a big probably...as in slim chance)
