The doctor was charged with 4 felonies for injuring 2 cyclists and faces 7+ years in jail.
Deputy James Council was charged with only 2 misdemeanors and faces a maximum of 2 years.

What this idiot did shows intent. The deputy didn't go out with the intention of hurting or killing someone.

You know it seems like what this guy did is exactly the same as the kid did to us the "house of pain" post above/below. This report on this doc says:

"Prosecutors contend that Dr. Christopher Thompson, 59, had argued with bikers who were crossing his path on a narrow road and pulled in front of them before slamming on his brakes on Mandeville Canyon Road.

One biker went through the rear window of Thompson's Infiniti sedan. He suffered broken teeth, facial cuts and a broken nose that was nearly severed, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County district attorney's office."

Fortunately or us we were all able to avoid hitting the back of the car. It seems then that we are destined to have someone get hurt or killed before the police will do anything.
