After last week's 25 miler, I thought I could get The Wife out on a more pavement-oriented ride. We did a little over 20 miles, but it felt harder than last week.

Bikes are ready.

This rutty path takes us off the Rollins Savannah and on to roads into Gurnee, Il.

We had never been to this park. The Kid loved the lion water fountain.

They had standard play equipment, but The Kid loved the giant sand pit, complete with plates of burried fossils.

They had a giant rope spiderweb climbing thing. No harnesses.

The kid takes a stab at it. He got up almost 6 feet before we had to pull him down.

I agree with MB1. That dog looks good. We had burgers and dogs last night. It's been a beautiful weekend.

It looks like your son should be publishing reviews of kids' parks judging by all your ride reports. :)

I disagree with both previous posters, maybe because I've eaten 9 brats this weekend already (worlds largest brat fest, strategically located near the end of most of my rides).

Looks like you had a nice ride, thanks for the report. How far up the rope ladder did you get?

Hot dogs! Now I'm hungry. I love the parks. They have those real toys that kids can have fun on. The parks around here got rid of all the stuff we loved as kids. No more teeter totters, rope climbers, etc. It's sad.
