rode my first crit yesterday

what a blast! - local training crit. 15 laps, 12 miles. I tried to be a good team member and pull for the elder statesmen. did kinda suck getting smoked by a 20-something kid, but I managed to stick w/ the lead pack until the final sprint.
next time - top 5 finish - lol - right

welcome then

I reckon my first crit was about the most fun I've ever had on a bike - enjoy!

(two cent worth - by all means do a fair pull or two but don't do the oldies any favours, they thrive on fresh meat like you...hehehehe)

Usually the 20-something kids are the fastest...
there are some aspects of getting old that suck - like having a 20-something yank your lungs right out your chest.

One of my weekend rides is with a fast group (many race on the same team), so I've had a "forced" apprenticeship on riding fast and tight, mostly due to fear of getting dropped out in the boonies and getting lost. It's been valuable experience - kudos to the Spin Mafia. If I would have tried this a year ago, I would have been a far different story.
