Hey guys,

I'm 6'2 and 195lbs. I'm looking for a commuting road bike; not a serious racer or anything, though I might get hooked with a better bike. I've narrowed down my choices and this is what I have to choose from:

It has no brakes, so I'll have to drop $$ on that.

I've bargained this guy to $550. I think it's a fair deal (?). I'm going to test-ride it to check out the fit soon.

This one seems like a good deal. I can probably get it at $300. I almost think it might be too big...

This last one seems sweet. Good gears, etc. If I can get this one at $600+, then I'd be happy.

For all these bikes, is there one or two that really stands out to you? They are all around my budget, so the one that best fits me will win in the end.

Thanks again for the help,
Leo

So, what did you think of the last one you thought you could get for $600?
Looks nice I guess, but would want to see it. Did not know you could still get 9 speeds as late as 2009. Could it be a bit older??

That bolded statement is worth its weight in gold. Hold that thought while shopping.

Keeping in mind that we're guessing on your sizing requirements, I still think the LG is worth a look. I noticed that the seller dropped the price since we discussed the bike yesterday, so you know he's serious about dealing.

The Giant is probably too small for you. It's roughly the equivalent of a 56-57cm, which is (IMO) about 3cm's too small.

The seller is mistaken on the Allez. There was no 63cm made on '03. It maxes out at 61cm, so either his year is wrong or the frame size. I'm betting the latter.

Be careful of the Norco. Even though they list it as a large, it's sized very small. More the equivalent of a 56.
