I'm competing in my first Duathalon on Father's day. It's the Du Run Run in Nashville which is a 2 mile run, 11.2 mile bike, 2 mile run. I know the initial pace is going to be super fast with the race being so short, but I'm going to try to keep my heart rate in check on the first leg and make sure I don't expend too much energy early on.

Does anyone have any advice to offer? I'm sure there are aspects of the race that I haven't thought of....trasition area...what not to do.

I don't have multisport specific clothes so I'm going to wear a pair of cycling shorts that don't have a thick pad and a cycling shirt. Any advice from exerienced duathloners would be appreciated.
