I am contemplating entering a crit with my fixie. There is a local series coming up that will have a fixie class. My fixie is my only road bike and is my comuter. I am a strong Cat 2 level MTB racer.
While I know I need to contact the race promoters for specifics, what are common rules for fixie crits?
Are straight bars allowed, or do I need drop bars?
Do I need two sets of brakes?
What kind of gearing should I expect to use to be competitive?

My current set up is a Felt Curbside, front brakes only, SPDs, straight bars, 39/17, all else stock.

Buh. I hope you survive. Fixies are good for lots of things, but fast/tight cornering is not one of them.

Thats already on my mind. Should be, uhmm...... interesting:eek:
