Saw that article this AM. I had no idea fixies were so hot right now. I don't see many folks riding them in Arlington. Maybe a Pista here and there. Mine just got stolen, so mabe that should have tipped me off to the trend.

You have to remember that DC (and surroundings) is the bike theft capital of the US. Something has to fuel the recreational pharmacology marketplace in the nation's capital...

Fixies have come a long way. I used to ride mine to work and do clubruns on it in winter, to save beating up the gear on my racing bike.

But that was in the late 1960's

Heck, I even bought my Pista a couple of years ago now - never ever bought a complete fixed gear bike ever before ;)
