Got this notice by email yesterday. Kind of funny when you think about it as I am ONLY 2700 km away, but for you San Diegans, may be worth a look.

The San Diego Velodrome is holding the annual Spring swap meet this Sunday
,
April 9th. Gates open at 7:30am for drive in sellers, 8am for walk in
sellers and 9am for buyers. Should be a good time for all , these are
always a lot of fun and I have always been able to find some nice vintage
parts and occasional bikes on the cheep. Hope to see the vintage group th
ere.

Sandy Eggo, I once longed to move there. I was attending school at U of Oregon in Eugene where it seemed always to be raining -- so much so that I produced a long series of drawings, landscapes of the area which were all ensconced in cloud cover and drizzle.

Now I live on the Oregon Coast, where it's "55 F and overcast. I don't even have to look out the window." Never gets hot, never cold. Mostly wet, and I'm saving a bundle on sun-screen.

Also, no traffic, no malls, one Starbucks -- buried away in the corner of the local chain owned grocery.

But as was noted by a colleague: "In San Diego even the transients have radiant tans."
