hey, i'm thinking getting a new bike and i am wondering what peoples thoughts are on traditional vs. semi-sloping vs. compact frame geometry. does any of this make a difference or is it just marketing hype?

Makes no difference in ride, might make a difference if you have short legs in proportion to your torso and arms.

I prefer a slightly sloping TT for the simple reason that I need a 57cm bike in horizontal length but the appropriate seat tube length for such a frame requires me to remove some of the seatpost from the frame to clamp the bike in the stand for maintenance. I'd rather no constantly losen and tighten the seatpost clamp and have to measure the saddle height every time I want to work on a bike. Pure laziness on my part, but it works. And, I like the way a frame looks with a little slope.
