I have a 1987 Specialized Sirrus with Shimano 105 components. It is a six
speed rear, currently 13*23 and I am converting the gearing to 14*26.
How can I tell which rear gear setup I have and where could I get a
replacement freewheel\casset?

You will need a Shimano Twist tooth freewheel. I remember DA and Shimano 600 freewheels, but I don't remember a 105. I think they probably used a standard freewheel they used on all bike not DA or 600. I'm pretty sure it was twist tooth.
