Hello... I need Help!!! Can't decide between this 3 Road Bikes, I think all 3 are 2012... Please tell me your opinion and why...

If I were you, I'd go with the bike that both looked and felt the best, since all the bikes are so close component wise. While the Roubaix SL has a slight edge in componentry, the GTR Series 1 is $300 cheaper. Therefore, if you're on a budget, go with the GT.

Nothing can top the feel of joy, comfort, and excitement when cycling. When you combine looks, comfort, and excitement, the bike then begins to call your name. When she calls your name, you will know that it's time for proposal.

TNX...

Ok.. so the Fuji SL has better components... What about the Frames what can you tell me, one better than another or maybe comfortable...? The Wheels..?

TNX... i'm buying one by the end of this week so all opinions wellcome...

IMHO there's almost nothing that can take the place of the joy, peace, and excitement that a properly fitted road bike can bring. You simply must find a local bicycle company that carries these models of bikes and test ride them all. As a matter of fact, it would be a grand idea to visit as many local bicycle shops (LBS) as possible and test ride a crazy amount of road bikes. This experience will then give you a baseline from which to judge all the others, including the three which currently hold your interest.


For all we know, another model altogether just might start calling your name...

The GTR 1 isn't generally available in shops, in the US. But, the series 1 and series 2 have identical frames, for trying one out. The major difference is, the 1 has a partial Ultegra component group (shifter and RD), and the 2 has 105 shifters and RD.

Personally, I'd lean towards the Roubaix SL. But I'd look around for a shop that carries Fuji and try one out. Geometry doesn't change much from model year to model year, and I would suspect that a 2013 has the same frame geometry.

As far as frame quality goes, I know that GT frames are made in Taiwan (probably by Kinesis). Fuji may be Taiwan, or mainland China. They're both pretty generic frames. GT has that fairly distinctive "triple triangle" design where the seat stays join the top tube ahead of the seat tube.

Just one final heads-up. GT isn't the greatest company to deal with on customer service and warranty issues. Or, at least they weren't in my case. The frame is only warrantied for 5 years, and if you read the fine print, their obligation is to replace the frame, and they can substitute a different one, if that's all that's available at the time. Be aware that the lower end frames (Series 3 through 5) use a different bottom bracket, a different fork, and a different headset.

I don't know how Fuji is in these areas.

Something really good happenened and i just recieved an extra $350 so my budget just got raised to $1600, that said, i'm looking at the 2012 Fuji Altamira 3.0... what you guys think..? or should I stay with the Fuji SL in Alu Frame...

Hard to say. I don't know anything about the quality of their frames. The 2012 Altimira looks like a decently spec'd entry level CF ride, though--mostly 105 components.

You could post in the Fuji forum down below, or do a search there.

If your budget allows for a brand new 105 equipped CF Fuji Altamira, I say go for it!

The Altamira is a well-respected quality CF road race bike :thumbsup:

* You might also wanna checkout the Fuji Grand Fondo, before you pull the Performance trigger. The Altamira is more for racing. The Fondo is more for long club rides, due to the more relaxed geoemtry.
