Do you have a 4k monitor or TV to display the video properly? If not, save the $500. One thing which concerns me is the 60 Mbps data recording rate for this camera. That sounds great when you compare it to my Sony HDR-AS100V's 50 Mbps setting on 1080p, but it's actually no different quality than the default 15 Mbps for 1080p. 4k resolution has four times as many pixels as 1080p, so it automatically needs a quadrupled recording bitrate to have the same level of graininess. Combine that with the fact the 4k setting is also limited 30 fps and you have a camera which isn't anything special.

4k means nothing on a fixed focus camera IMHO - the image quality isn't driven by pixel count it's the lens/focus/depth of field on all POV cameras I've seen. High bit rate recording is also limited by the memory card.

I really wish they'd find a way to increase battery life in these cameras. Or at least allow for rapid battery swaps.
