Got the above camera and struggling with the best way to mount it. I plan to use it for forward facing and would like to keep as low profile as possible. I have several bikes so I would like to be able to switch between bikes as easily as possible. FYI also have a Garmin 800 but right now plan on mounting the camera separately. I'd consider a combo mount if it has worked well for people.

I know K edge makes nice mounts but I balked at paying over half what I paid for the camera for a mount. I got one of these -https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I3GV0Q0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

quick release go-pro mount and it is nicely made but the adapter to the virb has made it pretty bulky. Too tall to go on top of the bars and gets tangled in the cables under the bar. Leaning towards the Garmin large tube mount right now.

On one bike I have a K-edge combo mount, gopro adapter to VIRB cradle. Rock solid, always gets good images. On another I have the Garmin handlebar adapter. Totally sucks, camera moves so much you rarely can get a decent image. If I could find a k-edge mount for those 26.0mm bars I'd get it.

The Bar Fly Road 4 Max looks like a good mount and not quite as expensive a K-edge.

Thanks for the replies. Most of my bikes have 26.0 / 26.4 bars, a couple with 31.8. I'd kind of assumed if I went with a combo mount I'd use some type of adapter or shim, but that might lead to some camera instability. Hmmm..

It looks like D.C. Rainmaker used the Garmin bar mount in his review.

I like the faceplate mount idea too, but one of my criteria is easy removability. I ordered the Garmin large tube mount. I'll post back regarding how well it works out; hopefully better than it did for you tka.

I have the Garmin/GoPro mount on one and the Garmin small tube mount on my mountain bike. I had the large tube but it was too big for my handlebar so I changed it for the small. Very sturdy and easily removable to switch and install on my hybrid. Looking to get the Garmin/GoPro for all three but looking for a K-Edge alternative.

Update:

I got the Garmin large tube mount and used it first time today. Works well. I have the camera mounted underneath the bar, not too much of the screw sticks up above the bar. The mount is stable and I got good image quality (road biking). Came with a total of 4 shims, used it on a 31.8 bar today.
