Hi Folks-
I've seen a bunch of large group buys for cheap carbon wheelsets, whether they are from Gigantex or from other factories. Has anyone on the board had experience with these? It seems like lots of people buy them, but not many people put a ton of miles on them. I know the certain folks will chime in and say that you can pick two of aero/light, cheap, and durable, but I'd like to hear from people whole actually ride these wheels. Thanks,

I have nearly 8,000 miles on my Neuvation carbon clinchers (Gigantex) and they're still going great.

Braking is great dry, but even swiss stop yellow doesn't cut it in heavy rain...

I have plenty of miles, including rRRs, crits and a cross race on my Williams 50mm clinchers and they are perfectly fine. Check out Boyd wheels.
As for the rain comment, NO carbon wheel brakes for sh*t in heavy rain...

Yep 50mm. In dry weather, the braking with SS yellows is better than my aluminum wheels, but they're not so fun to ride in the rain. It takes a revolution or 2 to clean the brake tracts and then still not very strong braking. Racing in the rain with them is somewhat scary

Any problems with cracking at the spoke nipples or bulging in the rim?

Not on my Williams...
They are Equinox (Gigantex) hoops.
