Where's that GPS?
Giro d'Italia - Stage Two

With Stage One under our belts and a new Maglia Rosa to watch - we turn our attention to the first true mountains of the 100th Edition of the Giro d'Italia.
Stage Two: Olbia to Tortoli, 221km
Refered to as a "Medium Mountain Stage", this bumpy ride through Sardinia is highlighted by two categorized climbs; the Cat 3 Nuoro and the Cat 2 Genna Silana. The fast men will string out in the tail of the peloton for the most part, but things will accelerate after the summit of the Genna Silana as it is mostly a downhill rush to the bottom and an 11km flat-out race from there to the finish in Tortoli. Talented descenders will have an edge here.
Although a mass sprint at the end is probable, I'm looking for a breakaway to form right before the summit of the Genna Silana. If this breakaway contains no GC contenders, the peloton may will let it fly and our new Maglia Rosa will be one of their number. The peloton will then peaceably roll under the finish banner shortly afterwards - the GC contenders safely ensconced in the pack and close to each other.
