Unless the frame has a longer than normal range of adjustment, you may not be able to get the FD low enough. Fortunately, it's easy to tell in advance. A 50T ring will require the FD to be 6mm or about 1/4" lower. If you've got this much travel, then you're good to go.
Even if you're a bit lacking in travel, some users report decent results with the FD mounted a bit higher than normal.
