Hello, just looking for some info regarding changing front ring set up.

I am currently running ultegra 2x10 but want to go to a 1x10 set up, can I just remove the inner chain ring and front derailleur and it will be fine, or will the chain line need to be adjusted (not sure how this works) to compensate for always being in the big ring?

I was planning on not running a chain guide on this set up

I have not converted to a 1x10 setup, but I'm interested. My thought was to remove the big ring and add a ring guard like this K-Edge Ring Guard

Keep the inner ring and dump the FD. You'll likely increase wear if you're in the lowest or highest 2 cassette sprockets a lot, so drive train maintenance will be even more crucial.
