I just relocated from Houston to Baltimore and have yet to find a decent LBS (haven't really tried though). I have a wheelset that I need rebuilt and am looking for a good wheelbuilder in either Baltimore (work on the inner harbor) or up around Towson.

Any suggestions?

I grew up in Towson -

cant think of a good lbs in that area any more - you've got Lutherville bike shop in Lutherville -(North on York road) - then theres Mt Washington Bike shop in Pikesville / Mt Washington which is closer to you. Are we talking boutique wheels or regular old training wheels?

Standard Wheels

The wheels are vlocity areoheads laced to Durace hubs. Nothing fancy. Driven by the Lutherville shop but never stopped in. Looks like it will be raining this weekend so I may head out there.

Thanks

Family and hated Houston

I have family in Frederick and NC. Went to Houston in '01 and hated every minute I lived there. Currently working @ Constellation NewEnergy. Absolutely love Towson (actually live in Rodgers Forge) Easy 7 mile ride to work in the morning and then a nice climb the whole way home.

I highly recommend Race Pace -- I go to their Owings Mills store on Reisterstown Road (from Towson, take the Beltway to Exit 20, go north about 2 miles). They also have stores in Ellicott City and Columbia. They are fair, honest and know their stuff.

BTW: If you want to see a lot of high-end bike porn, go to the Columbia store.

Trek Shop

Race pace is where I go if I have to - I live in Reisterstown. I didnt mention it because its a little far from the OP. Last weekend I was in there, needed cable end caps - counter guy gives me the product (package of 10) - then tries to find the price - nothing - goes to big price book - still nothing - then goes to second big price book - of course I'm thinking "they're .10 a piece - its a dollar". Finally charges me $1.50.

Since you are downtown, Broadway Bike Shop on Broadway in Fells Point may be a convenient option. The head mechanic Mike builds wheels for many of the downtown messengers. The shop is located at 415 South Broadway.
