The Lakeshore path and the Beaches area are nice places to bike in Toronto, but the route down to the Beaches along Main has some pretty steep hills. Does anyone know an easier route from the Lakeshore/Beaches area north to Danforth?

I know that you can get back to Danforth with a gentle incline by following the Don Valley trail, but that's a long way to go just for a flatter path.

Logan is a good option

Take the pathway that runs along the inner harbour and then go north on Cherry street. Cross Lakeshore and pick up the pathway running East that runs on the North side of Lakeshore. Turn N on Logan and ride Logan right up to the Danforth. Logan is good pavement, a gradual grade and one way North with OK bike lanes.

There is a good coffee shop enroute called the Riverdale Perk and T & T's on Cherry street is a destination grocery store for asian cuisine. Bring some live lobster home in your jersey pockets

You can also get to Logan more directly without going so far west but then you miss some good cycling.

Do you ever ride the spit? Do you have the city cycling map?
