By far the nicest ride I've seen on a site that I've quit checking because of the quantity of hipster-swine-toters it usually has going for it: https://fixedgeargallery.com/2009/apr/1/DennisBean-Larson_2.htm

I had a Nobilette. My first road bike, actually, and I only got rid of it because it was, like, four centimeters too small in every direction. Nice frame, though. He must be some kind of ethereal welder, because mine didn't have any vent holes - anywhere - in the top-tube.

Anyone know from whom he got his world-champ stripes?

I don't know about the worlds stripes. As you all know, those stripes can be a fickled thing.

A re-badged or an original builder can qualify.....imagine something like a Huffy with world stripes.:p

Nice looking bike , BTW.

a guy like nobilette ain't gonna throw on the stripes if not 'earned'... maybe his name was not on it but no doubt it was his frame. but any wc qualifies- uci elite, masters, jr, track, cx, bmx, trials, para, even non-uci stuff like tri is prob considered 'legit' by some

Right. Looks like there's a whole narrative here that gets traced through all the blog commentary, most of which I can't be bothered to read:
